Runs on: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Based at: The Chiltern Centre
The “Farm Rovers” sessions are designed specifically for people who are supported on a 1:1 basis and who may find integrating into social situations challenging.
The sessions enable service users to engage in their own specific farm-related task away from the possible distractions of a group setting. Tasks can be performed at any location on the 250 acre farm grounds. Service users engaged in the session are empowered with a sense of personal ownership of the task in hand and fulfilment upon its completion, thus increasing their self-esteem and confidence.
Tasks include grass strimming with a petrol strimmer, tree guard maintenance, brush clearance, fence posting, renovation and repair of gates and fences and general farm maintenance.
